Portrait potpourri

This week the watercolour III class is looking at a "loose and fluid" style of watercolour portraits. The artist that we looked at to represent this approach- and provide inspiration- was Ted Nuttall (USA). Here are a couple of images of his amazing portraits: 

We did some small studies in this style -- note the dabs and use of non-local colour- before starting larger paintings (to be completed soon...) Here are our studies:

 Not only are these "students" doing fabulous work, they are such fun and wonderful people to be around! Lucky me!!
