Spring Break in our school district starts at the end of the week; with the switch to daylight savings time and a bit of a vacation it definitely feels like spring. Hopefully the spring rain deluges, flooding and wind storms will let up... The Campbell River Art Gallery 34th Annual Member's Show opened last night- a wonderful variety of styles, genres and mediums by almost 80 artists. This year they have added a fundraiser component- called the Trace Sale-it involves artworks done on 11x15" paper by many of the member show artists; each selling for $50. Buy one and take it off the wall- revealing who the artist was and leaving behind only a trace outline of the piece. It was a well-attended and fun night. Today I had a great coffee at Shot in the Dark Cafe in Campbell River and was pleased to see my "Artists in Wootton Studio Suite" paintings up on the wall. They look great ( IMO) thanks to RuthAnne Eileen McMonagle and Still Water Arts for hanging them. (sorry-not the best picture of them here:(0 Spring Painting classes will resume in the studio after Spring Break- April 4. Click here for the schedule and contact me for more info or to register. Note- some times may change depending on 'enrollment'.
